What is Outside Services ?
This will include all aspects of the pro-shop operation that happens outside the clubhouse. You are the first and last people our guests interact with and are responsible for a majority of the service they receive. Because of this your role is vital to the success of GlenEagles.
Required Skills
The staff is expected to operate efficiently and professionally with the primary responsibilities of the guest services being; Power carts, aqua-range, club cleaning, shoe shining and tournament preparation, as well as being a host to our guests.
We require each individual to have a strong character, good people skills, and the ability to handle stressful situations.
All staff will have to have flexible schedules that permit seasonal employment with demanding summer hours. Some shifts will start as early as 5am and others will end as late as 11pm.
The Outside Services team will report to their shift supervisor as well as the pro-shop staff.
Service!, Service!, Service!
Why are we here? Our guest is number 1. They should not be treated as an inconvenience or hassle. They are not taking you away from another job, they are your job. We should always be thinking and acting in a way to make our guests experience unforgettable. How can you make some-ones day? If you are not sure how, ASK.
Random Service Acts (RSA)
RSA’s are a great way to go above and beyond our customers service expectations. When we have down time Proshop will be required to go onto the course and complete RSA’s. This can include washing clubs, holding the flagstick, raking bunkers, helping to look for golf balls etc. RSA’s are to be recorded as they count for bonus points on your daily grading.
Tips
Guests are not required and therefore or not expected to tip. There will be incidences where a tip is given to a staff member for service above and beyond. If you are not being tipped, you are not exceeding our guests expectations. In no way or form should our guests be pressured into thinking they must tip. Your services are included in their greenfee. The only exception to the tipping rule is for shoe shining. This service is above and beyond the customers expectations and tipping will be frequent if you perform a good job.
First Contact
The first contact by every guest with a GlenEagles staff member is to be a compliment. This first contact takes place a majority of the time at the bag drop. Outside Services are to give them a compliment at this time, these may include:
That’s a great car
That’s a great looking shirt
I really like your hat
Those are fantastic clubs
