The following are answers to a few questions that you might have about general Club House policies.

Discounts
All GlenEagles staff will receive 35% off any regular priced Pro-Shop items, excluding golf balls, clubs, bags, or shoes. These discounts will be determined by Slade or Scott. All GlenEagles staff will be allowed use of power carts at no charge. A waiver must be signed each time as per insurance policies.

Golf Privileges
Staff may use the course free of charge as a “Walk On”, after the last tee time of the day.  You may play 9 holes in the morning on the back nine if it is available on a walk on basis only.  A staff guest must be playing with a staff member, they are not permitted to come out alone and receive the guest rate.  Any guests (family or friends) must pay the staff rate of $27 however, all guests rounds must be approved by Slade or Blake.  Golf privileges may be suspended at any time.  Rental clubs are available for staff at no charge but you must have a proshop employee approve that you are able to use them before taking them.

Staff Food and Beverage Policies
These privileges are available to each employee when they are on shift.  All staff on shift will be able to order food off of the Staff Menu for a cost of $5.  The Chef makes daily specials to go along with other favorites to accommodate all tastes.  All food off the regular menu is 25% off.  You will only be served when the kitchen staff has the time to do so.

Alcohol is not permitted while on the premises.  Any alcohol consumed by an employee at any time while at the golf course may result in termination.  Bag lunches etc. may be brought to work but are to be eaten out of site from the customers.  All food orders must be placed through the lounge staff and you must pay when ordering your food.

Personal Phone Calls
All cell phones must be off while on shift, at no point should you be on your phone talking or texting in front of customers.  If you have an emergency come in and tell the Proshop and you will be given time to make a call in private.

Punctuality
Being on time for your shift is one of your 3 Non Negotiable of Employment.  If for any reason you will be late you must call the Outside Services Manager or the proshop to inform us so together we can try and make other arrangements until you arrive.

Scheduling
Your schedule will be made the last week of the month for the following month.  You will be required to submit any schedule requests before this time.  Any requests for time off are not guaranteed, we do our best to best to try and fill requests but not all can be considered.  Make sure to only ask for those requests that are most important to you.  Once the schedule is complete it is up to you to ensure you are able and ready to work the shifts you are scheduled for.  If you are unable to make a shift after the schedule has been posted you must find a suitable replacement and have it approved by the Outside Service Manager.  If you are unable to find a replacement you are required to work your shift.

Required Hours
If you are hired as a part time employee while in school we require that you work a minimum of 1 day during the week and a minimum of 1 day on the weekend.  This is a non negotiable and is a requirement to successfully earn a position at The Links of Gleneagles.

Shift Length

We typically schedule staff for 8 hour shifts.  We have an "Open" shift from 6am-2pm and a "Close" shift from 2pm-10pm.  During the spring and fall while you may be in school we will require you to work 1 shift from after school to close during the week and 1 shift on the weekend.

During the summer the days are longer and your shift may start as early as 5am on the Open shifts and you may be here as late as 11pm for the Close shifts.

Signing In and Out
Everyone will need to sign in at the Pro-Shop.  If you do not check in we will have no record of your hours worked. You must be in uniform to sign in.  Pro shop attendants will sign in all outside services personnel. Parking
Staff parking is in the top lot, most easterly from the pro shop. Female staff leaving after dark may ask their supervisor for an escort if they wish. Staff with bicycles may leave them locked in the maintenance yard.

Payroll
GlenEagles uses direct deposit. Employees are paid on the 9th and 24th of each month. All standard deductions will apply: CPP, UIC, FEDTAX etc.
The responsibility for correcting submitted hours working rests with the employees.

Prior to your first pay Cheque you must fill out a TD1 and Hiring requisition, overtime agreement, and submit your banking information, or you can not get paid.
Any hours over 8 in a day or 44 in a week will be banked. Banked hours will be paid out in the next available pay period that does not reach 44 hours in that week. In order for banked hours to apply you must have been readily available for work, banked hours can not be paid while you are on holidays. When banked hours are used a sheet will accompany your pay stub outlining which day's they were used.

Uniforms and Dress Standards
Uniforms will be supplied in part by GlenEagles.  Employees are responsible for the proper care of their uniforms.  All employees must be in full uniform at all times.  Proper uniform is defined as clean ironed GlenEagles Staff Shirt along with Black or Beige golf pants or shorts.  Your shirt must be tucked in at all times.

You will be supplied and must wear your name tag at all times on shift.  If you are wearing layers of clothing during inclement weather your name tag must be on the outside of your top layer. For cold weather you will be required to wear your staff uniform but will be allowed to wear a personal coat as long at it is black.  If it is raining you may use a GlenEagles staff rain suit for the duration of your shift by it must be returned before signing out. Uniforms are not to be worn at any other time than while you are on duty.

Miscellaneous
Smoking is strictly prohibited for any GlenEagles staff on the premises.

Illness
If you do happen to have an illness that would stop you from coming into work, please let your department head know ASAP. We understand illness is unavoidable in many instances, please keep in
mind that either one of your teammates will have to come in on their scheduled day off, or the rest of the
team on that shift will have to work extra hard to cover for you.

Lines of Communication
If you need to contact the Outside Service Manager regarding shift changes or work related problems the best line of communication would be a direct phone call.  You may also communicate via text message however; you must ensure you have a valid 2 way conversation to ensure all problems are solved immediately.  You can use email to send in schedule requests however, please don't use email to try and resolve short term issues as generally email cant always be accessed as quickly and as often.
