Not only do we run a golf course, full service restaurant, & banquet facility but we also operate a retail store in the proshop. We sell golf equipment, clothing, and supplies to our guests. People with purchase gifts, tournament prizes, the latest equipment for themselves or a hat to keep them out of the sun.
To increase Pro-Shop sales we must invite our guests to look, feel, and handle our merchandise. The longer a guest looks at an item the better the chance that they will purchase it.
Presentation is the best way to make this happen. We must capture our guests attention. To do this we must use unique displays that stand out and are changed frequently. Present our best products in full outfits i.e. A display with pants, shirt, jacket, hat, and shoes. The most important way to gain attention is to have a clean Pro-Shop with well-folded merchandise that is dust and wrinkle free.
Displays are to be changed regularly with fresh stock being brought to our high traffic areas.
You will be expected to educate yourselves on our merchandise and be able to competently explain the features and benefits of the products that we sell.
Ask our customers open ended questions to engage them. The standard old “Is there anything I can help you with?” will surely receive a “No Thanks”. People are programmed not to ask for assistance, we must invite conversation.
“That's a great piece, its one of our best sellers”
“Would you like to try that on, it would look great on you?”
“That's our new __________, it will help you with ___________________”
“What do you think of that shirt?”
“Have you purchased ___________before?”
People love to talk golf and talk golf products. However they will only discuss things if they feel you are knowledgeable.
