Our Architect Les Furber has Transformed Canadian Golf

When they name the great golf designers of Canada, Les Furber is always at the top of the list. Based in Canmore, his courses are well known in the province of Alberta, but he has also done wonderful layouts in British Columbia as well.

Furber, in his late 50s, has had his own design firm for about 25 years. He started out his career working with the legendary Robert Trent Jones. During that time, Furber traveled the world and worked on Dar Es-Salaam in Morocco as well as Valderrama, site of the 1997 Ryder Cup matches.

Among his best known courses in Canada, besides the Links of GlenEagles, are: Predator Ridge in Vernon, British Columbia, Salmon Arm, also in Vernon, SilverTip, in Canmore, Alberta, and Glasgow Hills on Prince Edward Island.

Furber has done some of his best work on dramatic terrain, such as you’ll see at GlenEagles. He concentrates on making courses playable for the average golfer as well as creating challenges for those with advanced skills.

And you will find that kind of fun and fulfilling round at GlenEagles as well.
